Fly Jacuzzi

Long before the name Jacuzzi became synonymous with spas and hydrotherapy, it represented innovation, engineering, and aviation.

My grandfather, Candido Jacuzzi, was one of the original seven Jacuzzi brothers whose vision helped build one of America's earliest aviation companies.

In 1915, the Jacuzzi brothers began designing and manufacturing aircraft propellers after Rachele Jacuzzi developed an innovative propeller that caught the attention of the growing aviation industry. During World War I, the family manufactured propellers for military aircraft before pursuing an even greater dream—building their own airplane.

That dream became the Jacuzzi J-7 "Rio," one of the most advanced aircraft of its time. Featuring a revolutionary laminated monocoque wooden fuselage and one of the first enclosed passenger cabins ever flown, the J-7 represented a remarkable leap forward in aviation design.

The brothers envisioned launching one of California's first commercial airlines.

Tragically, on July 13, 1921, that dream ended when the J-7 suffered a catastrophic wing failure during its return flight from Yosemite National Park. The crash claimed the lives of everyone on board, including my great-uncle, Giocondo Jacuzzi. Although the family was devastated, they never stopped inventing.

Years later, our family's story took another extraordinary turn.

When my grandfather's son, Kenneth ("Ken" or "Kenny") Jacuzzi, was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis as a young child, doctors recommended hydrotherapy treatments to help relieve his pain. Wanting to bring that therapy home for his son, my grandfather Candido Jacuzzi invented a portable hydrotherapy pump that could be used in a standard bathtub.

What began as a father's determination to ease his son's suffering became one of the most recognizable inventions in the world—the original Jacuzzi® hydrotherapy system. That medical innovation eventually evolved into the whirlpool bath and helped create an entirely new industry, changing millions of lives.

Today, I am proud to carry my family's pioneering spirit into the skies.

As the granddaughter of Candido Jacuzzi and the owner of The Skywriters, I continue a legacy built on imagination, perseverance, and innovation. Every skytyping performance, airplane banner, aerial billboard, drone show, airship campaign, and airshow reflects the same passion for creating something extraordinary that inspired my grandfather and his brothers over a century ago.

Our family helped shape the future of aviation.

Our family transformed hydrotherapy around the world.

Today, I am honored to continue that tradition by creating unforgettable experiences in the sky.

The dream that began with seven brothers still flies today.

A Century of Innovation.
A Legacy That Still Flies.
